Terrariums are our favorite way to bring gardens indoors. With so many styles and terrarium supplies available, we’re often asked, “Which terrarium container should I choose?” The answer depends on the style of your home, and the level of upkeep you’d prefer for your garden under glass.

Most of terrain’s vessels are open terrariums, which require natural light as well as adequate watering and drainage. Fill your jar or bowl terrarium with foliage plants or succulents. For a super low-maintenance garden, try pairing a hanging vessel with air plants. Remember to keep the plants in your open terrarium moist, but not wet. Keep track of how quickly the soil becomes dry during the first few days to determine a misting schedule. Place a stylish mister close by so you’ll always remember to water.
