Native to Brazil, this member of the myrtle family offers attractive foliage for indoor and outdoor gardens. It can take up to eight years for these trees to fruit; growing its flowers and fruit on the old growth, bark-y stems. Ripened fruit is deep purple and has a tart, acidic taste.
