Mid-size splitting axe purpose-built for lighter tasks like splitting wood and making kindling. The two pound axe head is hand-forged and made from Swedish axe steel in a foundry that has been in operation since 1697. The shorter 20 inch American hickory handle balances swinging action with packability, treated with linseed oil for protection against the elements. Specialized Swedish splitting pattern to reduce friction, wedging action that cleaves through wood with ease. Includes a full-size leather sheath to protect the blade when not in use, handmade by Axe and Awl Leatherworks in North Carolina. Each axe is made in Sweden by Hults Bruk, artisans with over 300 years of experience in forging tools.
