This rocky, aerating mix is made with locally sourced, natural ingredients and is specially formulated to help cacti and succulents thrive. The climate impact from this product equals 14 pounds of prevented carbon emissions.

How to Use: Add a base layer to the pot and gently fill in the sides. Fit the root ball into the center space as you fill. Once your plant is in, top off on the sides and water. Be careful not to over compress the top soil! Succulents need a little extra space for their roots to breathe. It is a good idea to repot plant every year but keep an eye on soil compaction and plant growth and repot accordingly.

About OurCarbon biochar: A material made from organic waste that has been diverted from landfill and transformed in a totally passive process. The result is a charcoal-like material with the carbon from those waste organics locked in place. In a landfill setting these organics would have emitted as methane and CO2, but diverting them and transforming them to OurCarbon ensures they will not emit for centuries. The life cycle assessment for this material shows that for every one ton of OurCarbon produced, 10 tons of CO2e are prevented from entering our atmosphere. Each package of DEN tells you just how many greenhouse gas emissions have been avoided by growing and making their ingredients.

About Den Sustainable Soils: Den Soils’ ingredients are hyper local, sourced within 500 miles of the headquarters in the San Francisco bay area. Den uses a waste material from local, FSC certified sustainable logging companies called Fir Bark. This material serves the same function of holding moisture in our soil, but without the greenhouse gas emissions.
