A tropical evergreen that's native to the Yucatan region, this plant produces a tart and nutritious cherry. Happy to be planted in the ground but can thrive in a container as long as its big enough to allow the vigorous tap root system to grow. Often yields fruit in its first year, making it perfect for the beginner (and impatient!) gardener.
