Tropical Spheres at Styer's
We're looking up this summer at Styer's thanks to a remarkable display -- suspended spheres made of tropical foliage. The dramatic scale, lush texture, and cascading shape of these green globes capture the best of this season's tropical trend. Perfect for high-ceilinged spaces and open-air tents, these installations would make a beautiful addition to summer weddings and gatherings. Recently, we caught up with designer Beth C. to learn more about the look.
Beth says, "For these spheres, I drew inspiration from the work of Australian master florist Wona Bae; Loose Leaf, a book showcasing her work, recently arrived in stores. I wanted to create a tropical installation that included our hanging basket planters and water-saving liners. After adding soil to the baskets, I filled them with a mix of potted plants, fresh cuts, and faux stems. Each basket includes Tiger Fern (a Boston-type fern), Rhipsalis tucumanensis (a dripping, vine-like succulent), leafy Monstera deliciosa, and a variety of faux foliage."
