Welcoming the Holidays
Each year, Christmas at terrain begins with our annual Holiday Open House. We gather with friends from near and far for a day of garden-inspired gifts, merry decorating ideas, sweet seasonal treats, fun for the little ones, and much more. After this year's festival, we collected some of our favorite moments from the celebration at Styer's -- read on to see how we kicked off the season.
In the weeks before the festival, our designers were hard at work, decorating every corner of the store for the holiday season. A canopy of foraged branches and lights welcomed shoppers at the door, leading them inside to explore our décor favorites. A forest of richly-decorated trees -- like the one above, wrapped in faux berries and botanicals -- offered ample inspiration for those preparing to bring home their own festive fir.
Workshops throughout the day offered visitors lots of ways to deck their halls for the holidays. Our designers provided guidance for crafting handmade evergreen wreaths, along with suggestions for planting Christmas container gardens. Families also gathered to build their own sweetly-decorated gingerbread houses while enjoying an artisanal hot cocoa bar.
The tree lot and nursery were fully stocked with newly-arrived greens, from full-size Noble firs to fresh garlands and swags. A marketplace of our favorite growers and makers created a lively scene among the evergreens, offering a wide variety of one-of-a-kind gifts. While they shopped, visitors could drop off their garden tools for maintenance at the Howe Sharp mobile sharpening truck, where they would be ready for pickup after the festival.
To sweeten the afternoon, festival goers could stop by the fire pit for a freshly toasted s'more, warm up with samples from our annual Staff Soup Cook-Off, or visit the Garden Cafe to taste four flavors of holiday pies (including our famous Salted Honey!).
We've found many more ways to celebrate this holiday season, from wreath making workshops to Christmas centerpieces. Find our full events calendar here.
