Welcoming the Holidays: Open House 2018

Each year, we usher in the Christmas season with our annual holiday open house at our Styer’s and Westport stores. The event brings friends from near and far for a day filled with garden-inspired gifts, seasonal food and drink samples, a forest of fresh cut trees, festive decorating ideas, Christmas crafts for the kids, and much more. Our photo team captured some of the merriment at our Styer’s location last week -- take a peek to see the fun!

In the weeks leading up to the open house, our store team works hard to create a magical winter wonderland for guests to explore. Trees are trimmed, halls are decked, and lights are strung so everyone leaves in the Christmas spirit.

Tradition is an important part of everyone’s holiday experience, and we’re happy to be a part of so many families’ lives. Our hot cider candles in enamel mugs are one of our most anticipated holiday offerings, and our wall of fresh wreaths makes for a stunning seasonal display. 

One of our most cherished open house traditions? Roasting s’mores by the fire! We also invited some of our favorite food and drink brands to share samples of their creations - there was bloody mary mix from The Real Dill, Runamok maple syrup tastings, cheese from the farm at Doe Run, and many others.

And for festival-goers looking to get a head start on their shopping, our lively holiday market is always full of unique, handmade gifts like these gorgeous glazed ceramic pieces. Our extensive collection of fresh trees, wreaths and garlands filled the nursery with their classic Christmasy scent.

Wreath-making workshops were offered throughout the day, one of our most popular events during the open house. Guests received guided instruction from our design team as they crafted one-of-a-kind wreaths using magnolia leaves, crimson berries, and eucalyptus branches to hang on their doors for the holidays.

Families gathered for a gingerbread cookie making workshop, where kids got to decorate the little men with Christmas candies while sipping on hot cocoa.
