Behind the Scenes: A Highlands Holiday

The holiday season arrived early for terrain's photo team in late October, as they headed on location for a week of Christmas shoots at The Highlands. About an hour from Philadelphia, this historic mansion was built by eighteenth-century merchant and politician Anthony Morris, whose family used the country estate as a peaceful retreat from the bustling city. Completed in 1796, it remains an outstanding example of late Georgian architecture, surrounded by a picturesque greenhouse, elegant formal gardens, and acres of rolling farmland. Inside, the grand architecture of the home made the perfect backdrop for our holiday scenes.

Throughout the busy week, our team decked the halls with fresh evergreens, twinkling lights, and an abundance of good cheer. Photographer Katie H. says, "It's always great to see our team come together and execute a vision, especially when we do big shoots like this. Alli, our Stylist, can effortlessly create a natural garland in a matter of minutes, while Isa, our Narrative Photographer, captures just the right images to evoke a warm and welcoming holiday atmosphere. And our Art Director, Laura, is great at seeing the big picture and fitting all the tiny parts together. It's easy to get lost in the fast-paced days, but wonderful to step back and see the final product once we've created a beautiful experience for our audience." We gathered some of favorite behind-the-scenes moments from our Highlands holiday, above.
