Fall Celebrations at the Autumn Bounty Festival
We recently hosted our annual Autumn Bounty Festival at Styer’s on the most perfect fall day - sunny skies, a slight breeze, and 70 degree temps welcomed festivalgoers as they pursued the marketplace, took in live demos, listened to live bluegrass music, sampled the tasty food, and visited with the farm animals from Doe Run!
Once again we partnered with long-time friend of terrain, Phoenicia Flea, to curate a new assortment of artisan vendors from the Catskills and beyond. We also welcomed the most health and beauty vendors we’ve ever had at the festival. Moyadi, Lavido, and Kindred Skincare all set up in the spa to explain how to use their products and offer mini-treatments to customers.
Terrain vendor Petals & Moss stopped by to demo fresh-made, seasonal wreaths and everyone loved watching Nancy work and answer questions. A major crowd (and palate!) pleaser was the staff chili cook-off, where everyone got to sample and vote on a dozen homemade chilis. Linda Allan carved a prize-winning pumpkin with a beautiful botanical scene and our littlest guests got their faces painted and made mini scarecrows.
As always, we had our kitchen specialist, Susan Schu, in the nursery giving customers a taste of our favorite fall pantry items including truffle salt sprinkled on just-popped popcorn, truffle honey and honey creams from Bumbleberry Farms, the Real Dill bloody mary bar complete with a fixings tray, jalapeno honey pickles, and our new mushroom hot cocoa mixes! Erich Sizelove from Barspoon beverages joined the fun and offered customers a taste of his cardamom lime and lemon ginger mixers.
If you missed this event, you’re in luck because we’re hosting our second Autumn Bounty Festival at our Westport location this Saturday, October 29. Be sure to check out the calendar for a full listing of the day’s events and vendors.
