Terrain in Westport

In one week, we'll be opening the doors to our second terrain location, in Westport, Connecticut. As we work diligently to put final touches in place, we wanted to share just a few details from our newest home for gardening and community.
The site of terrain in Westport was first a Cadillac dealership built in the 1940's, whose industrial bones now inspire our natural environment. In keeping with the building's framework, steel-mullioned factory windows and an antique indoor greenhouse reinforce the heritage of the space, while a slow-drip wall fountain and orchid wall will bring life to our garden café and restaurant.
We can hardly wait to welcome the Westport community next week, and hope to see many of you there. In the meantime, click here to take a peek at our exclusive Westport collections, designed by local artists and friends of terrain.

A Conversation with Farmaesthetics

*Fall Wellness with Farmaesthetics, Saturday 11/12. To book your appointment for a relaxing hand treatment and consultation with Brenda, call us at 610-459-2400 or click here.
In anticipation of Saturday's afternoon of wellness, a few thoughts from Farmaesthetics founder Brenda Brock describe our shared outlook on organic skincare.
terrain: What do you think is the greatest benefit of using organic skincare products?
Brenda: They actually feed your skin, your body, the entire you; creating healthy, vital tissue that is equipped to ward off signs of aging and environmental damage. Cosmetics are best known for making the skin “appear” healthier, prettier, younger, and brighter; and that has its place. But for those of us who want our skin to actually BE healthier, prettier, younger, and brighter ; we need to feed, nourish and protect it without compromising chemicals. And that is exactly what you get when you use natural products like Farmaesthetics

We're so excited to announce one more guest is set to join us at our annual Holiday Open House next Saturday, 11/5: The Good Batch! Sampling tastes of their classic Stroopwafel and Oat Chocolate Chunk Cookies, as well as debuting their newest creation, the "Brown Butter Salty," The Good Batch will be joining our other friends and vendors, Bellocq Tea, Alexa Barbiche, the Bee Man, and more.
Just a few weeks ago, us folks at terrain were lucky enough to sample the Brown Butter Salty, and we've all been dreaming of it ever since! Equal parts sweet, salty, and oh-so-deliciously crumbly, make sure to save time for The Good Batch next Saturday so you can see for yourself what the Brown Butter Salty is all about.

Supporting D. Landreth Seed Co.

One of our neighbors is in trouble. A long time partner of terrain and supplier of the heirloom and wildflower seeds for some of our favorite collections, D. Landreth Seed Co. has been in the business of providing seeds to gardeners and farmers alike since 1784. We know them for them for their quality seeds, and appreciate them for the care they put into sharing them; with beautiful hand-drawn labels that often date back to the company's early days. In their efforts to modernize while maintaining the beauty of their original purpose, D. Landreth has become deeply indebted and is facing the possibility of closing their doors at the end of this month. A community of supporters has begun an effort to help them sell one million seed catalogs in October to save the company from closure, and we wanted to help spread the word.
